Tony Bonner has been appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in the Australia Day Honours List for 2017 for significant service to the performing arts as an actor, to surf lifesaving, and to the community through charitable organisations.

On the 27th of February at the Stage One International Film Festival on the Gold Coast, Tony Bonner was awarded the Warner Bros Movie World Lifetime Achievement Award for 2016.
